This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the PMS Bazaar mobile app for Android (package com.pmsretail.customer), why we collect it, and the choices you have. It also applies to our website at pradipmegastore.com.
The app and this website are operated by Pradip Mega Store (listed on Google Play under the developer name PMSTECHNOLOGY / Pradip Mega Store), a retail supermarket based in Kashipur, Purulia, West Bengal, India. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Pradip Mega Store.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need to let you sign in, shop, and receive your orders:
- Phone number — used to sign you in and to identify your account. We verify it with a one-time password (OTP) delivered to you by SMS.
- Name and basic profile details — the information you choose to provide when you set up or update your profile.
- Delivery addresses — the addresses you save for delivery. You may optionally attach a precise map-pin location (latitude and longitude) chosen with the in-app map picker to help our delivery team find you. Location is used only while you are actively picking an address (in the foreground). We do not track your location in the background.
- Order history and cart contents — the items in your cart and the orders you place, so we can fulfil and manage them.
- Push-notification token — a device token from the Expo push service and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), used to send you order-status notifications.
- Basic technical data — information our servers routinely receive when the app connects, such as your IP address and device type, used for security and to keep the service running.
Voice search
If you use voice search, your speech is processed by your device's built-in speech recognizer (provided by Google/Android). The app receives only the transcribed text of your search query. The app does not record, store, or transmit any audio.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To process, deliver, and manage your orders.
- To send you notifications about the status of your orders.
- To operate, maintain, and protect the app and our systems against fraud and abuse.
We do not show ads in the app, we do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers we rely on to run the service, and only to the extent needed for them to do their job:
- SMS delivery provider — to send your one-time login passwords by text message.
- Expo push service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — to deliver push notifications to your device.
- Cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services, India region) — to host the app's servers and store your data.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
How long we keep your information
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. We retain records related to your orders for as long as required to comply with tax and accounting obligations under Indian law, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, and to request that your account and associated data be deleted. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
Account & data deletion
You can ask us to delete your PMS Bazaar account and the personal data associated with it at any time.
To request deletion, email [email protected] or call us at +91 75016 42098 with the phone number registered on your account. We will verify your request and delete your account and personal data, except for any records we are legally required to retain (for example, order records kept for tax and accounting purposes), which we delete once those legal retention periods have passed.
Children
PMS Bazaar is a grocery-shopping app intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of India. We handle personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — including collecting data only with your consent, using it only for the purposes described here (purpose limitation), and honouring your request to have your data erased. We do not claim any formal certification under this or any other law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page and post the updated version here. Significant changes may also be communicated within the app. Your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
